Which date should be recorded for invoices?

Should I use the invoice date or delivery date when recording supplier invoices?

The short answer is: the invoice date

The invoice date is generally what the supplier is using to calculate the due date. It is also what the supplier is using to record any applicable taxes.

The invoice date might also be called:

—Tax point date
